Hey friends! Welcome back to An Inky Dream. I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday season. Today I am announcing the names of my newest joeys, as well as a general update on their health and developmental progress.
Both of the babies are little girls. ❤ They officially came OOP (out of pouch) on December 1st, so they are just over two weeks old. It’s been so fun watching them grow! They’re getting a furry and their eyes just recently opened! They’re able to make very loud sounds to call their parents if they’re hungry or scared. For now, they just stay in their sleeping area or occasionally ride around on Dreamer’s back while she explores or eats.
Ink and Dreamer have been such good parents. It’s really fun to see how much they both take part in keeping the babies warm, safe and fed.
I’ve been able to hold both of the little girls quite a bit. Dreamer was nervous the first few times (which is understandable!) but she’s fine with me holding the babies now. I keep them wrapped in a little piece of fleece and they just sleep away (until they get hungry, then they let Dreamer know very clearly!). They’re so soft and so adorably adorable!
And now to announce the names! I think that all names should have significance and meaning. Which is why it takes me forever to come up with names for anything. XD I’ve finally decided, though…
Star Rain: I choose this name for several reasons. “Starain” is a character in my most recent novel. This is a slight variation on that name.😂 I also choose this because I think it is important to remember that no matter how much rain falls or how many clouds fill the sky, the stars are always shining. They’re little lights that are more visible to our eyes, the darker the night becomes. They point us back to God, whose love never fades or vanishes, no matter how bad our situations in life are.
Laelynn: Laelynn means “Flower of Hope”. I never expected that 2020 would be the year that I would find hope. It’s been crazy, up-and-down, painful and filled with unknowns. Yet, somehow, I have found hope. I found purpose. I found peace and joy and I realized that life is beautiful. Just like a rose, in the midst of thorns.
I hope that you all have an awesome day! Let’s chat in the comments! I’d love to hear about your holiday season, how you’re doing or anything else!
What do you think about the names I choose? What are some of your favorite names? What does your name mean?
P.S. I’ve set up an Available Joeys page that lists prices for these beautiful babies. If anyone is interested in purchasing them, please contact me. I will be selling them once they are weaned. I am very eager for them to go to a good, forever home.
