Hello friends! Today I’m going to be showing you how to make this cute foraging pully toy. 🙂 Gliders love pullies. They’ll often carry the rings back to their pouch to nest with. This is super easy and doesn’t require a lot of time or materials.
What You’ll Need:
- A small plastic container
- Three pieces of small chain
- Three plastic bracelets
- Three c-link
- Three mini links
- One zip tie
- Charms (optional)
Start off by making three holes in the plastic container. The easiest way to do this is to heat up something metal (like a skinny screwdriver) and then just melt the plastic. This creates smooth holes that won’t be dangerous for the gliders. You’ll need to make one hole in the bottom and two holes in the top. Then set it aside.
You’re going to take one of your bracelets and slip the chain through it. Then attach one mini link to each end of the chain. Then attach the other two bracelets to the mini links. This is the pully part of the toy.
Next you’re going to attach a mini link to the blue bracelet. Hold that up to the hole. Slip the zip tie through the mini link and back through the hole. Tighten it down and then cut it off as close as you can. Be sure to remove/file down any sharpness that’s left.
So the pully is now attached to the foraging cup.
Take the other two chains. If you’re putting on extra charms, attach them with mini links.
I made the two other holes here. Again, they’re not perfectly smooth yet.
Put a c-link at the end of the of each chain. (Note: in the picture below, I attached them with mini links. I ended up changing that later because the mini links aren’t great for holding weight.) Slip those through the holes in the cup. Then use the last c-link to attach the chains together.
And that’s it! Hang the toy into the cage. You can fill the cup with pompoms and hide treats in there. 😉
